Glossary of Poker terms

All in: Commit the rest of your chip stack to the pot for the current hand.

Auto-Rebuy: Automatically replenish your chip stack when you run out. This option can only be turned on or off by standing from the table and taking a seat again.

Bad Beat: One way to win a Progressive Jackpot in DoubleDown Casino Poker games.

Bet: Add a wager to the pot for the current hand.

Blind: In each hand, there are two antes known as blinds (big and small). The two players to the left of the dealer pay the blinds. This starts the pot for every hand. If there are only two players, the dealer pays the small blind.

Buy-in: The chip stack each player brings to the table. Each table has a minimum buy-in.

Call: Match the current bet and remain in the hand.

Call Any: Choose this button to automatically call any bet made this round. This forfeits your option to raise the bet.

Check: Remain in the game without increasing your bet. This option disappears when another player has raised beyond your current bet.

Check/Fold: Use this button to indicate that you wish to check if possible but fold if anyone raises.

Community cards: In a game like Texas Hold'Em, the cards dealt to the center of the table are called community cards. Each player's hole cards combine with the community cards to form individual hands.

Dealer: In each hand, one player is the dealer, indicated by the D marker before them. The marker moves clockwise around the table after every hand.

The Flop: The first three community cards dealt.

Fold: Quit the hand.

Hole cards: In a game like Texas Hold'Em, the cards dealt to you alone are your hole cards. Only you know your hole cards and how they combine with the community cards to form a hand.

No-limit: A game in which there is no limit to the amount you can bet at a time.

Pot: The amount currently at stake in the hand, comprised of all players' blinds and wagers.

Pot-limit: A game in which raises are limited to the current size of the pot.

Raise: Increase the bet and the minimum amount that players must pay to stay in the hand.

The River: The fifth and final community card dealt.

Side pot: If multiple players go all in, the lowest chip stack of the hand defines the primary pot. The players with larger chip stacks create a side pot with the overage they have wagered. Only the players whose chip stacks make up the side pot are eligible to win it.

Sit out: Sit at the table without playing or paying the blinds. You will be ejected from the table if you sit out for too long.

Stand: Stand from the table without leaving the room. You can sit again to adjust your Auto-Rebuy setting.

Straight Flush: A winning hand in Poker (see Winning hands below). Also one of the ways to win a Progressive Jackpot in DoubleDown Poker.

The Turn: The fourth community card dealt.
